CURRICULUM
TODDLER CURRICULUM

Our toddler curriculum focuses on a daily story of the day, art, music, small and large motor skills,
sensory, and self help. Listed below are these activities and what they do for your toddler.

Daily Story: Children develop language by hearing it. Books allow your child to develop early
language skills, and encourage them to love books.

Art: Art helps to develop your child's independence. It also strengthens your child's small motor skills
with the use of crayons, scissors, and markers.

Music: Children learn so much through song and dance. This allows your child to exercise through
dance and is an easy for your child to learn their days of the week, ABC's, and etc.

Small and large motor skills: Through these activities, your child will learn how to develop their
muscles in their hands with the small motor skills, and learn to develop muscles in their legs and
arms with the large motor skills. Small motor would include art, and large motor includes outside
play, and dance.

Sensory: Children learn to discover the world around them with their senses. Everyday your child
will be given the opportunity to do so. Through nature walks and field trips, hearing new sounds
through music, tasting a new food, and much more!

Self Help: Toddlers are in the stage of be very independent, and we love to support that. Your child
will have daily opportunities to learn to do things for themselves such as putting on their jacket and
washing their hands.
We do believe that children are our future, and to have a bright and successful future, they
must be taught. Incorporated into our program is a toddler and preschool curriculum. We
want all children to learn and develop correctly while they are in our care; therefore every
curriculum is designed to be age and developmentally appropriate. Each week we
concentrate on a theme. Many of our activities revolve around this theme (stories, crafts,
games, puzzles, music, etc.). We believe that learning should be fun and enjoyable!

Facility Tour
Welcome to our classrooms! The most thing that we are very proud of is that we are able to provide small
classroom settings. Every teacher is able to offer one on one attention to every child in their classroom.
This also means that we are able to accommodate each child separately  with the needs appropriate for
them. By your child attending Ashley's Angels Childcare they will benefit through:

- Daily individual devoted time with their teacher
- Daily monitoring of their development
- Daily access to developmentally age appropriate toys and materials
- Weekly Lesson Plans that accommodate your child.
- Directors monitoring every classroom daily, through scheduled walk through.

Below are our four classrooms and their staff to child ratio information.
Infant Rooms
Ages 6 weeks to 12 months
Our Infants are divided up into two classrooms. Here at Ashley's Angels we have chosen to only care for a limited number infants at one time.
We understand and respect that this specific age group is a very important one, in which the foundation of a child has begun. We want to
ensure that we are developing a good foundation for your baby to ensure their development.
Our Infants are divided up into two classrooms in which our staff-to-child ratio is 1 teacher to 3-4 non-mobile infants and 1 teacher to every 5
mobile infants. (At this age it is time to begin socializing your infant with a little larger group to make their transition, from the infant to toddler
classroom smoother).

Infant Moon Room
Toddler Room
Ages 12 months to 23 months
We have one toddler room that serves ages 12 months to 23 months. This age group children are learning to communicate, be more mobile,
potty train, communicate and learn about social skills. Through experience we have found that the children of this age learn better when they
are around more children. This allows the children to gain more access to other children their age, to help them with all the developmental
stages in which they will be rapidly undergoing in the next 10 months of their lives. Our staff-to-child ratio is 1 teacher to every 6 toddlers.

Pre-School Room
Ages 2  years to 5 years
Our preschool Classroom is geared to helping children develop skills that will allow them to be ready for Kindergarten. We have
found that some two year olds are ready to engage in preschool activities and lesson plans. Therefore as we like to accommodate
each child, sometimes two years olds will get advanced to the preschool class after careful screening. Here at Ashley's Angels we
like to provide each child with what they need to grow and develop correctly so that they succeed in all areas of their lives. Our
staff-to-child ratio is 1 teacher to every 10 children.
